Prime Healthcare's Wound Care Clinic in Kansas City, KS is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to oversee assessment, treatment, and prevention of complex wounds. Working weekdays, 8-10 hour shifts, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

You will educate staff on evidence-based wound care, monitor outcomes, and help develop protocols to reduce complications while adhering to CMS guidelines and infection control standards.

Formación

• Must have current and valid RN license in the state.
• BCLS (AHA) required on hire and maintained.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Wound care knowledge or experience preferred (1 year).

Responsabilidades

• Perform comprehensive wound assessments and manage complex wounds.
• Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, therapists, and nursing staff on care plans.
• Educate clinical staff on wound prevention and treatment protocols.
• Track healing progress with documentation and data reporting.
• Lead CMS guideline compliance and infection control initiatives.
• Support quality improvement projects in Wound Care.

Overview

Department: Wound Care Clinic

Employment Type:Full Time (No weekends or call)

Shifts Available:Days (Monday – Friday)

Hours:8 to 10 hourshifts – flexible scheduling

Location: Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS

TheWound Care RN in our hospital willoversee the assessment, treatment, and prevention of complex wounds, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care. They also educate staff,monitoroutcomes, and develop protocols to improve wound healing and reduce complications.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Perform comprehensive assessments and provide expert management of complex wounds, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and other skin integrity issues
• Collaborate closely with physicians, dietitians, physical and occupational therapists, and nursing staff to develop and coordinate individualized wound care plans
• Deliver education and hands‑on training to clinical staff on evidence‑based wound prevention techniques, treatment protocols, and the appropriate use of wound care products
• Track wound healing progress through detailed documentation, data analysis, and reporting to support patient outcomes and care quality
• Lead hospital‑wide efforts to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines, infection control standards, and best practices while developing protocols and driving initiatives to reduce hospital‑acquired pressure injuries
• Collaborate on Performance Improvement Projects within the Wound Care department
• Work with providers on plans of care for patients

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

1. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.2. BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.3. ACLS within 30 days of hire.4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.5. Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year).
