Registered Nurse, Women's Services Post Partum

Position: RN - Women’s Services - Post Partum - Full Time - Nights

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Reports to: Unit Director

FLSA: Non-exempt

Education: Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

License: Current state RN license or multistate compact license; degree from an accredited nursing school.

Certifications: BCLS within 30 days of hire/transfer; ACLS within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Essential Functions
  • Performs care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care accurately.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living.
  • Collaborates across disciplines for coordinated care, transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
  • Evaluates learning needs and provides education tailored to patient and family.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Additional Information

Performs other duties as assigned, participates in process improvement, and assists with orienting new employees and students.
