Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Women’s Health Unit on a full-time day shift. The unit provides care for gynecological surgery patients, postpartum patients, and related medical-surgical cases, with all private rooms and a focus on quality outcomes.

The RN will apply the nursing process across the lifespan, comply with Kentucky Nursing Laws and hospital policies, participate in governance, and contribute to a healthy professional practice environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing is required.
• Active Kentucky nursing license required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

About the Unit:

The Women’s Health Unit is a 24 bed all private room unit solely for women. Care is provided for gynecological surgery patients, medical/surgical patients, post-surgical bariatric patients, mastectomy patients, and cosmetic surgery patients. The unit also services postpartum patients choosing to place their baby for adoption or those who have experienced a stillbirth or miscarriage. BCLS is/will be required. Women's Health or Medical Surgical experience is preferred, but New Graduate nurses are welcome.

Job Summary:

Registered nurse implements the nursing process for each assigned to his/her care regardless of age (i.e. infancy to geriatric) and is responsible for the patient’s care consistent with the Kentucky Nursing Laws and organizational policies and procedures. The registered nurse promotes positive patient outcomes, and the delivery of quality patient care and initiates change through active involvement in the unit-based and hospital shared governance councils while contributing to a healthy professional practice environment.

• Active Kentucky License.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
