Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health is seeking a registered nurse for a full‑time, onsite role at our Independence, MO campus. You'll support teens in a residential setting, move between houses, and monitor health needs within a multidisciplinary team.

You will administer medications, assess vital signs, and collaborate with families to ensure safe, structured care focused on lasting outcomes. Weekend shifts and comprehensive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Missouri.
• CPR certification.
• Willing to establish CAQH profile and obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Responsibilities

• Assess and respond to student health needs across multiple homes.
• Monitor vitals, administer medications, track health status and progress.
• Communicate with families and the care team about updates and decisions.
• Document medications accurately, including controlled substances, each shift.
• Provide coverage to support floor staff and maintain safety and consistency.
• Respond to behavioral and medical situations using de-escalation and intervention training.
• Observe, document, and report changes in mood and health.

• Friday to Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Tuesday, Friday, Saturday,7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Thursday to Saturday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Are you a compassionate and skilled nurse ready to make a real impact in adolescent mental health? As an RN at Embark Behavioral Health, you’ll support teens (ages 12–17) in a residential setting, providing care that goes beyond traditional nursing, allowing for more connection, consistency, and meaningful interaction.

This is an active, hands‑on role where you’ll move between houses, assess needs in real time, administer medications, and play a key role in day‑to‑day care decisions while helping ensure each teen feels safe, supported, and heard. You’ll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, communicate with families, and contribute to a structured, well‑run environment focused on lasting outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a consistent clinical presence by assessing and responding to student health needs across a large, open campus with multiple residential homes
• Monitor vitals, administer medications, and track health status and progress
• Communicate with families and the care team by sharing updates and contributing to care decisions
• Ensure accuracy and compliance by documenting medications, including controlled substances, each shift
• Provide additional coverage, as needed, to support floor staff to maintain safe and consistent operations
• Respond to behavioral and medical situations using de‑escalation and intervention training
• Observe, document, and report changes in mood, behavior, and overall health

Qualifications

Required Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• CPR Certification
• Must be prepared to establish a CAQH profile and obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) as part of the onboarding process.

Required Skills:

• Experience in medication administration and patient care
• Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing techniques, and documentation standards
• Ability to assess vital signs and communicate medical information
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including frequent standing, walking across a large campus, and responding safely and effectively during crisis situations.

Preferred Experience:

• Bedside hospital experience
• Experience in diabetic care
• Experience in Psychiatric Nursing
