Job summary

Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Staten Island, NY, is seeking a nurse supervisor to plan, develop, and direct nursing services for residents on the unit. Ensure compliance with all regulations and facility policies.

The role requires leadership of staff, oversight of medication supplies, and collaboration with the Director of Nursing to meet residents' needs. Weekend shifts are available and professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of two (2) years of direct care experience in long-term care, restorative or geriatric settings.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a nursing supervisor, preferably in a nursing home.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must meet state licensure requirements and have no disciplinary action against license.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs nursing services for residents on the assigned floor.
• Ensures compliance with current regulations and facility policies.
• Reviews complaints and grievances and reports to the Director of Nursing as required.
• Maintains adequate stock of medications, supplies, and equipment for resident needs.
• Assists in developing written assessments of residents' nursing needs.
• Makes nursing/aide assignments as indicated.
• Encourages staff to participate in outside trainings and schedules times accordingly.

Duties

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs nursing services for residents on the floor assigned.
• Ensures compliance with current applicable federal, state and local regulations and facility policies and procedures.
• Reviews complaints and grievances made or filed by staff. Makes appropriate reports to the Director of Nursing as required or as necessary.
• Ensures an adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., is always maintained on the unit to adequately meet the needs of the resident and notifies appropriate personnel of needs.
• Assists in the development of written preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the nursing needs of each resident.
• Makes nursing/aide assignments as indicated.
• Encourages staff to attend and participate in outside training programs and schedules times as appropriate.
