Job summary

McLaren Health Care's Hospice department in Lansing, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for day shifts to promote high-quality, safe, and efficient care for patients, families, and staff. You will follow organizational policies and guidelines across nursing, home health aides, rehab and office staff.

You will interpret diagnoses and treatment implications to patients and families, notify physicians of changes, and support clinical supervision as part of a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
• Minimum of one to two years of med/surg., critical care or demonstrated experience.
• Current Michigan driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the development of policies and procedures to ensure organizational efficiencies as appropriate.
• Interprets to the patient and family the implications of the diagnosis and nature of the treatment, consistent with the Physician’s instruction.
• Notifies physician and Clinical Supervisor of changes in patient condition.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preference will be given to applicants with educational preparation appropriate to the immediate or long-range needs of the agency.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
• Minimum of one to two years of med/surg., critical care or demonstrated experience in a specialty area.
• Current Michigan driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance.

Preferred

• Two years hospital experience.
• Experience in a certified home health agency.
