Job summary

McLaren Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Emergency Services to provide nursing care within the unit’s scope of practice, following hospital policies and the nursing process.

The role includes assessing patients, updating plans of care, educating patients, and supervising ancillary personnel to ensure efficient care delivery. This full-time, on-site position requires Michigan RN license and ACLS/BLS; incumbents enjoy benefits and predictable day shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Michigan RN license.
• ACLS within six months for specified units.
• PALS within one year for Emergency Dept., TNCC for ED.
• BLS certification required for Healthcare Providers.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Assesses each assigned patient, documents and evaluates their response to plan of care, and takes appropriate corrective action.
2. Plans and implements the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provides patient teaching using the plan of care/standard of care.
3. Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered. Experience specific to the unit/position may be required to maintain overall competency level of unit, as required by regulatory agency.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider.
• Within six months of hire into department, ACLS required for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, Telemetry Floats. NRP required for RNs in Labor and Delivery; and PALS required for RNs in Pediatrics; PALS and TNCC within one year for the Emergency Department.

Preferred:

• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS preferred in other units.
