Job summary

McLaren Health in Michigan seeks a Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy unit. The role is on days, with daily times 7:30am-6:00pm and scheduled biweekly hours of 80. You will deliver nursing care within the unit’s scope of practice, adhering to hospital policies and standards.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning and implementing care, and supervising ancillary staff. Requires MI RN license, BLS, and ACLS or eligibility within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Michigan RN license is required.
• ACLS required within six months for specified units.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
• PALS may be required for ED; TNCC within one year for ED.
• NRP required for Labor and Delivery; ACLS preferred in other units.

Position Summary

Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• 1. Assesses each assigned patient, documents and evaluates their response to plan of care, and takes appropriate corrective action.


• 2. Plans and implements the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provides patient teaching using the plan of care/standard of care.


• 3. Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Required

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.


• Experience in a specialty area will be considered. Experience specific to the unit/position may be required to maintain overall competency level of unit, as required by regulatory agency.


• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.


• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider.


• Within six months of hire into department, ACLS required for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, Telemetry Floats. NRP required for RNs in Labor and Delivery; and PALS required for RNs in Pediatrics; PALS and TNCC within one year for the Emergency Department.

Preferred

• One year of professional nursing experience.


• ACLS preferred in other units.
