Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking a Part-time Registered Nurse for Infusion with expertise in venous access and infusion therapy. You will assess patients, administer treatments, and educate patients while maintaining safety and adhering to policy and CDC guidelines.

The role requires RN licensure in Florida, BLS certification, and demonstrates competency in venous access and infusion care with emphasis on patient-centered care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• RN license is required to practice in Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• PALS, NRP, VA-BC, CRNI are preferred certifications.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatments and medications and verifies physician orders.
• Evaluates venous access plan for age and therapy needs and intervenes as needed.
• Provides patient education and plans care related to infusion therapy and venous access.
• Responds to Code Blue and other clinical emergencies and supports quality initiatives.

Job Description

Part Time 24 hours Exemplifies AdventHealth’s core values of Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, Love Me, and Own It through behavior. Follows CDC guidelines for sterile technique and isolation, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Manages and intervenes appropriately for the patient with current venous access issues, including prioritization, appropriate venous access choice for age, therapy, and any current complication’s impact on the needs for IV therapy. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives. Evaluates the need for and provide patient teaching in all aspects of the venous access specialty. Identifies individualized plan of care based on patients’ needs related to both infusion therapy and venous access consult and intervenes appropriately. Evaluates patients’ developmental level, identify increased physical/emotional dependency needs, and evaluate the availability of support systems consistent with assessment. Performs and documents all procedures and assessments according to department policy. Obtains patient assessment, evaluating diagnosis, previous medical history, existing infusion-related complications, and ordered therapy as it relates to current venous access consult. Administers treatments and medications, interprets and verifies physician orders, and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions. Functions appropriately in Code Blue and other clinical emergencies. Demonstrates continuous competency in specific procedures related to venous access and infusion therapy. Provides expert resourcing to staff nurses and other departments as consulted. Performs other duties as assigned.
