Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a full-time Day Shift Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Oncology 6 RP Unit. The role requires BSN preferred or MSN, RN license, BLS, and 18 months RN experience.

You'll lead nursing care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and coordinate unit operations in a fast-paced oncology setting. The unit delivers chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplant, and other complex therapies.

Qualifications

  • RN license required.
  • BSN required or MSN preferred.
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • ONS/ONCC or Sentara-approved Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum 18 months RN experience.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership for nursing care in the department.
  • Lead safety and quality initiatives and focus on workflow improvements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support individualized patient care.
  • Coordinate unit operations as charge nurse and team lead.

Nurses on this unit provide compassionate, specialized care while monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, delivering chemotherapy and other treatments, and supporting patients through complex care needs.
