Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Medical Telemetry Unit. This full-time Day shift role leads nursing practice, focuses on safety, quality, and workflow improvements, and contributes to staff development.

Required BSN (RN), with 18 months of acute care RN experience; telemetry/medical unit exposure preferred and potential for charge responsibilities.

Qualifications

• BSN is required for consideration.
• 18 months of acute care RN experience is required.
• Telemetry or Medical unit experience preferred.
• Charge experience is a plus.
• ACLS, NIHSS or related certifications expected within timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for nursing care in the department.
• Lead safety and quality initiatives and workflow simplification.
• Develop and mentor staff; improve staff satisfaction.
• Coordinate care and serve as unit coordinator for the shift.

The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Education

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required) Or
• MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Registered nursing License (Required)
• BLS required within 90 days of hire
• Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
• Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
• NIH within 1 year of hire

Experience

• 18 Months of acute care RN experience(required)
• Experience in Telemetry and or Medical
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Acute Care nursing background preferred
