Responsibilities

The Triage RN is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while fielding and triaging patient phone calls related to medical needs. This includes evaluating and renewing prescription refill requests following protocols, conducting patient assessments, and providing safe and effective telephone advice, care instructions, care management, care plans, and directions for patients.

Schedule

Triage RNs provide 24/7 coverage. Each nurse is assigned a shift: days, mids, eves, or noc. Nurses can self-schedule their FTE within the parameters of their shift for flexibility and work/life balance.

During the first 12 months, the team will discuss working a FT schedule due to training requirements. Post-training, schedules will be adjusted to part-time.

CentraCare Connect follows the CentraCare transfer policy. Nurses must be in their hired positions for one year before changing FTE or shift.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school and current RN licensure in MN required
• Current BLS required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Phone/clinical triage experience preferred
• Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
• Knowledge of anticoagulation therapy standards preferred
• Proficient in computer and technology use required
• Microsoft applications experience preferred
