Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse Traveler for the Operating Room. This 14-week assignment features a 12-hour shift schedule with multiple shifts and on-call requirements.

The RN will provide competent nursing care, perform assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes. VA license, ACLS/BLS and NIHSS are required, with 2+ years in OR scrub/circulating roles.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of recent OR circulating and scrub experience.
• Valid RN license to practice in Virginia (ADN/BSN/MSN acceptable).
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.

Responsibilities

Overview: SENTARA NORTHERN VIRGINIA MEDICAL CENTER WOODBRIDGE, VIRGINIA REGISTERED NURSE TRAVELER - 14 WEEKS OPERATING ROOM MID 0900-2130 (12-hour shift)

• One scheduled Sunday shift weekly (0700-1900)
• One weekday night on-call shift (Variable)
• One weekend on-call shift (Variable)
• Calls range from 4-6 calls in a 6-week schedule

$75/hr

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.

The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.

The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Meets and maintains any requirements defined by a specific special Registered Nurse Education RN Degree - ADN, BSN or MSN Certification/Licensure Valid RN License to practice in Virginia Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Registered Nurse Experience MUST have AT LEAST 2 yrs of RECENT OR CIRCULATING AND SCRUB experience.
