Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide competent nursing care using the nursing process and standard practices. The RN will assess patients, admit them, perform rounds, administer medications, and discuss care with families while coordinating with the team.

Requirements include an RN degree (ADN/BSN/MSN), Virginia licensure, current ACLS/BLS/NIHSS, and at least 2 years of recent OR circulating or scrub experience.

Shift Details

First (Days) – 0900-2130 (12-hour shift)

• One scheduled Sunday shift weekly (0700-1900)
• One weekday night on-call shift (Variable)
• One weekend on-call shift (Variable)
• Calls range from 4-6 calls in a 6-week schedule

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.

The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

This position's primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of your patients.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Education RN Degree - ADN, BSN or MSN Certification/Licensure Valid RN License to practice in Virginia Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Registered Nurse Experience MUST have AT LEAST 2 yrs of RECENT OR CIRCULATING AND SCRUB experience.
