Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA, invites a Registered Nurse traveler for a 14-week assignment in the Acute Cardiac/Stroke/IMCU unit. The RN will provide bedside care, use critical thinking, and participate in a fast-paced travel role across shifts.

Two or more years of recent IMCU/Stepdown RN experience are required, along with EPIC documentation familiarity and current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS credentials.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in IMCU/Stepdown, Medical Surgical
• EPIC documentation system experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS and NIHSS required

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process
• Perform assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Collaborate with care teams to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes A, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by a specific specialty

Education

• RN Degree - ADN, BSN or MSN

Certification/Licensure

• Valid RN License to practice in Virginia
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Experience

• MUST have AT LEAST 2 yrs of RECENT bedside RN experience in IMCU/ Stepdown, Medical Surgical
• EPIC documentation system experience required
• CURRENT ACLS, BLS AND NIHSS required
