Job summary

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse traveler for a 14-week assignment on day shift. The role requires at least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in Medical Telemetry or IMCU and current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications.

The RN will provide nursing care using the nursing process, perform assessments, planning, implementation, and teaching to patients and families while coordinating with the care team in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• MUST have at least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in Med Telemetry or IMCU.
• EPI C documentation system experience required.
• RN degree (ADN/BSN/MSN) and valid RN license in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Perform assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Educate patients and coordinate care with the team.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

RN Degree - ADN, BSN or MSN

Certification/Licensure

Valid RN License to practice in Virginia
