Job summary

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Hawai'i seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Transport Team. You will provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation for patient transfers by ground and air, collaborating with a charge nurse and other team members.

Required: Hawai'i RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP CPR cards, plus three years of pediatric clinical experience including NICU/PICU.

Qualifications

  • Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse license and active CPR certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP).
  • Three (3) years pediatric clinical experience including neonatal or pediatric intensive care and/or equivalent education/training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care for the Transport Team.
  • Function as an associate to a charge nurse and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities.

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high‑risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Transport Team provides a full spectrum of health care to patients being moved by fixed wing or ground transport from a referring to an facility within the Kapi‘olani network. Our health care professionals are specially trained to handle a variety of needs, including ventilation and respiratory care, and we strive to be the provider of choice for families and other members of the medical community requiring medical transport services.

Pay Range: 70.89 - 70.89 USD per hour

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) CPR cards. Three (3) years pediatric clinical experience including one (1) year in neonatal or pediatric intensive care and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field. Transport experience.
