Job summary

Hawai'i Pacific Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu. You will perform nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation, while supporting the charge nurse and advancing care for women, infants and children.

The role requires Hawai'i RN licensure, BLS and ACLS certification, plus at least one year in an Adult ICU. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Full-time, rotating 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

  • Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse license required.
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS cards required.
  • One year of recent acute care RN experience in an Adult ICU.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care.
  • Serve as an associate to a charge nurse and assist with charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
  • Deliver high quality nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job description

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 243 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,500 employees and more than 630 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Resource team provides quality, comprehensive patient care in an assigned facility, covering for regular staff members that, for a variety of reasons, are unable to attend to their normal positions. The Resource Team provides clinical and nursing support and encompasses a broad skill set that enables members to float to various areas in the hospital or clinic. Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) card. One (1) year of recent acute care registered nurse experience in an Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU).

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
