Job summary

The Maples, part of Beacon Behavioral Support Services, is seeking a committed Registered Nurse for night shifts in Crowley, Texas. The position covers a 7 pm to 7 am shift, focusing on the care of teenage girls facing mental health challenges including trauma, disordered eating, and substance use.

The RN will serve as Charge RN, oversee nursing care delivery, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and ensure adherence to ANA standards.

Qualifications

• Must have Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Texas.
• Certification in Basic Life Support required.
• Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.
• LPN Certification from an Accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Functioning as the Charge RN for the assigned shift and supervising the clinical program.
• Plan, coordinate and document total patient care with the multidisciplinary team.
• Accurately report and record patient condition and care.
• Prepare daily progress notes and update treatment plans in coordination with the team.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and teach self-care techniques.
• Educate and supervise other healthcare personnel in continuity of care.
• Initiate and sustain implementation of physician orders and maintain clinical notes.

What does the Licensed Nurse do? (including but not limited to)

At the Maples, The Licensed Nurse will focus on helping teenage girls who are struggling with their mental health, including trauma, disordered eating, and/or substance abuse.

Responsibilities

• Functioning as the Charge RN for their assigned shift, is responsible for providing the nursing care delivery system and supervising the clinical program during assigned shift. Assured that the nursing care provided remains compatible and reflects the ANA standards.
• Participates in the planning, coordinating and documenting total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Accurately reports and records the patient’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
• Prepares clinical/progress notes daily and incorporates into the clinical record weekly, and documents monthly recertifications/Master Treatment Plan Updates in coordination with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Assists the patient with activities of daily living while teaching appropriate self-care techniques.
• Educates and supervises other healthcare personnel in providing continuity of care.
• Initiates and sustains the implementation of all physician orders.
• Completes, maintains and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes.
• Participates in case conferences, in-services, and other programs and meetings as needed.

Qualifications

Physical Demands:

This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required.
