Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing practices based on the latest evidence-based research, policies, and standards to ensure safe, individualized patient care.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, colleagues, and the healthcare team regarding patient status, care, and treatment plans.
• Administer medications using advanced bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safety.
• Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations electronically at the point of care.
• Provide patient and family education to promote health, wellness, and disease management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary discharges to ensure safe transition and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required.
• BLS/CPR certification by the American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS and NIH certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• Experience in Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, and Oncology preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Willingness to attend training to become chemotherapy competent within six months of hire.
• Strong ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing needs, and demonstrate accountability, teamwork, ongoing education, and high-quality patient care.
