Job summary

Straub Benioff Medical Center in Honolulu is seeking an Oncology Care Unit Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing services to patients undergoing oncology treatments and telemetry monitoring.

You will participate in assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of patient care in a warm, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
• One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in Telemetry.
• Preferred: One (1) year recent acute care RN experience in Oncology and two (2) years in Telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing services in the Oncology Care Unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care.
• Assist as a charge nurse associate and progress toward taking on charge nurse responsibilities over time.

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The Oncology Care Unit department strives to provide competent and safe care to patients admitted for acute nursing interventions of 24 hours or more. Our highly trained and professional staff treats people recovering from serious illness requiring telemetry monitoring, oncology treatment, orthopedic and major surgeries. Medication and treatments are provided in a warm and caring environment that facilitates swift recovery.

As the Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to provide professional and compassionate nursing services to the Straub community through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care in our Oncology Care Unit. You will also function as an associate to a charge nurse and begin to assume charge nurse responsibilities with time.
