Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Telemetry unit. You will provide safe patient care, perform ongoing assessments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team during nights in a full-time role.

The position requires an active RN license, BLS, ACLS within 30 days, and preferred BSN with prior acute care and ventilator experience. Sign-on bonus available up to $10,000.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain.
• ACLS certificate to be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care within the nursing scope of practice in Med/Surg/Telemetry.
• Coordinate and guide patient/family teaching and nursing activities.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the physician, including cardiac monitoring results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to condition changes and treatment responses.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.

2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

5. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.

6. Ventilator Management experience preferred.

7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58.
