Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper in Surgical Services. This PRN position offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized patient care, collaborating with physicians and healthcare team members.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Ensure completion of nursing interventions, medication administration, and therapies.
• Prioritize patient needs based on acuity levels.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members using appropriate tools like SBARQ.
• Develop positive team relationships, mentor colleagues, and resolve conflicts.
• Operate medical equipment, perform routine nursing tasks, and assist in critical situations including CPR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN licensure in applicable state.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience preferred.
• CPR certification required within three months of hire for specified departments.
• Ability to perform basic nursing skills, multitask, communicate effectively, and handle all patient populations safely.

Physical Demands

Constant standing, frequent walking, bending, lifting up to 100 lbs., and use of safety equipment as needed.

Additional Requirements

• On-call responsibilities and ability to travel between facilities.
