A leading healthcare provider in Phoenix is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for their Progressive Care Unit. The role involves direct patient care, education, and support within a high-acuity environment. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and leadership qualities, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement through various programs.
The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as a part of the responsibility of their role.

Description of Progressive Care Unit
Mayo Clinic Arizona’s Progressive Care is a high-acuity, 24-bed unit that includes hemodynamic monitoring for a diverse patient population. As a Magnet-designated facility, we have great resources to allow our nurses to deliver unparalleled care. We care for patients on high-flow, BiPAP, titratable drips, and/or require intensive monitoring and interventions. We frequently care for the following patient populations:
· Neurosurgery
· Neurology/Comprehensive Stroke
· Vascular Surgery
· ENT/Plastics- FLAP reconstruction
· Internal Medicine: DKA, Sepsis, GI bleeds, Covid
· Hepatology
· Solid organ transplant
· General/Colo-rectal Surgery

Foundation of Critical Care Nursing (FCCN) Program (3C, 3W, 4C Progressive Care Units)
As part of the standardization of Progressive Care Units (PCU) at Mayo Clinic, we have created a curriculum to educate and train any RN hired to work in a PCU setting. The FCCN program is a combination of online and in person training that is completed throughout the orientation process. This program will provide the resources and tools to increase critical thinking skills and build confidence in the workplace. We are searching for self-motivated and compassionate nurses that align with Mayo Clinic’s RICH TIES values.
