Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an RN Inpatient to provide comprehensive nursing care across inpatient units in Missouri. The RN Inpatient will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care under leadership supervision, directing co-workers as needed to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing — Required.
• BSN — Preferred.
• RN licensure in state or compact — Required Upon Hire.
• BLS certification — Required within 90 Days.
• ACLS — Required within 90 Days if inpatient area requires it.
• Travel between system facilities and off-site locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessment/reassessment of patient and documents in medical record.
• Analyzes information collected to determine patient needs and outcomes.
• Develops and implements plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis, and outcomes.
• Oversees delegation of the plan to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Ensures discharge planning is part of the care plan as appropriate.
• Engages in patient/family/staff teaching to achieve outcomes.
• Maintains knowledge of standards affecting operation of patient population served.
• Contributes to professional development of peers, colleagues, and students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Graduate of a school of nursing - Required

Work Experience

• Prior clinic or hospital experience - Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure in state, depending upon designated work location - Required Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - IF working in an inpatient area in which ACLS is required within 90 Days

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required

Skills and Abilities

Essential Technical/Motor Skills

• Ability to give injections, administer medications, change dressings; fine motor skills, eye/hand coordination, answer phone, data entry.

Interpersonal Skills

• Displays a friendly, positive attitude and communicates with patients, families, physicians and co-workers in a professional manner.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Must walk, move, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull, and lift, speak clearly Must follow good body mechanics.

Essential Mental Abilities

• Ability to collect thorough information regarding patient's condition and evaluate effects of care.
• Problem solve, manipulate numbers, be adaptable, interpret data, perform calculations, comprehend verbal and written communication, explain information, possess good short and long-term memory.

Essential Sensory Requirements

• Ability to visually assess patient condition; must be able to communicate with patient in order to assess condition and evaluate effects of care. Visual, hearing, feeling, smell.

Exposure to Hazards

• Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, blood and body fluids, needle sticks and other conditions common to a medical environment.
