Job summary

Mosaic Life Care in Missouri is seeking a Registered Nurse (Inpatient) to oversee and participate in direct patient care across inpatient units. Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, supervising staff, and discharge planning to ensure quality outcomes.

The role requires RN licensure, a nursing degree (BSN preferred), and BLS with ACLS as applicable. Travel between system facilities may be required, and prior hospital experience is favored.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing - Required.
• BSN - Preferred.
• RN licensure in state or compact state - Required Upon Hire.
• BLS - Required within 90 Days.
• ACLS - If inpatient area requires, within 90 Days.
• Travel between facilities as needed - Required.
• Prior clinic or hospital experience - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessment/reassessment of patient and documents in medical record.
• Analyzes the information collected to determine patient’s needs and expected outcomes.
• Develops and implements plan of care based upon the assessment, diagnosis, and expected outcomes of patient.
• Oversees the delegation of the plan to other licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Ensures a discharge plan is part of the plan of care as appropriate.
• Engages in patient/family/staff teaching to achieve desired outcomes.
• Maintains knowledge of standards affecting operation of patient population served.
• Contributes to the professional development of peers and students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure in state, depending upon designated work location - Required Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - IF working in an inpatient area in which ACLS is required within 90 Days

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required

Skills and Abilities

Essential Technical/Motor Skills

• Ability to give injections, administer medications, change dressings; fine motor skills, eye/hand coordination, answer phone, data entry.

• Displays a friendly, positive attitude and communicates with patients, families, physicians and co-workers in a professional manner.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Must walk, move, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull, and lift, speak clearly Must follow good body mechanics.

• Ability to collect thorough information regarding patient's condition and evaluate effects of care.
• Problem solve, manipulate numbers, be adaptable, interpret data, perform calculations, comprehend verbal and written communication, explain information, possess good short and long-term memory.

Essential Sensory Requirements

• Ability to visually assess patient condition; must be able to communicate with patient in order to assess condition and evaluate effects of care. Visual, hearing, feeling, smell.

Exposure to Hazards

• Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, blood and body fluids, needle sticks and other conditions common to a medical environment.
