Job summary

Mercy is seeking an experienced RN to join a 26-bed orthopedic/surgical unit in Fort Smith, AR. You will provide nursing care, educate patients, manage discharge planning, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe transitions and optimal outcomes.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to Mercy standards, and participation in post-operative recovery, pain management, and mobility support for adults.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure; must meet state board requirements.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required or obtained within 90 days of hire.

• Bed Numbers: 26

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 6:1

• Patient Population: Adult orthopedic and surgical patients with a variety of post-operative needs, including joint replacements, fracture care, and abdominal surgeries. Nurses focus on recovery, pain management, wound care, mobility, patient education, and discharge planning. This unique unit provides experience across both orthopedic and surgical specialties, supporting patients on their journey back to independence.

Qualifications:
