Job summary

Mercy is seeking an experienced RN for a full-time, 26-bed general surgical unit focused on adult orthopedic and surgical patients with post-operative needs. The role emphasizes recovery, pain management, wound care, mobility, patient education, and discharge planning.

Eligibility includes a 10,000 sign-on bonus, no contract, and requirements for an RN license in the hiring state and BLS/ACLS certifications with 90 days of hire. Mercy offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure; must meet state board requirements.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.
• Roles include recovery, pain management, wound care, mobility, patient education, and discharge planning.
