Registered Nurse Surgery Trauma Full Time Days - New

Up to $25,000 Sign-on Bonus, based on relevant experience

Unit Specializes in: 2 West is a 25-bed telemetry unit that also offers surgical services such as neurology, oral & maxillofacial, gynecological, and trauma care. It has a team of Registered Nurses (RN) and Patient Care Associates (PCA) trained in orthopedic patient care and surgery. EKG training is available.

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is the largest hospital in the DMC, providing comprehensive services including heart care, cancer treatment, geriatrics, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and cosmetic procedures. Its joint replacement program features minimally invasive knee and hip surgeries, attracting patients nationwide. The hospital operates over 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers across Wayne and Oakland Counties and has received a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to set standards in cardiac care.

Job Description

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is part of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring quality nursing care. The RN manages and provides patient care activities, utilizing independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support staff. The RN's role includes leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers
  • Delegates, assesses, provides, and evaluates patient care
  • Provides and delegates patient care activities to team members
  • Monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge
  • Reports directly to senior management and participates in shared decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a school of nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required

Job Location: Detroit, Michigan at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. Full-time, Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
