Position Overview

The competent Nurse, in a similar clinical setting, practices independently, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to develop long-range goals or plans. Continues to enhance skills to manage clinical nursing contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to care providers to effectively manage clinical situations.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, consistent with ANA standards.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, or caregivers; identify issues and resources.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience

• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS required.
• RN License in the state of employment or a valid compact license.
• ACLS required.
• PALS preferred.
