The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is a 29‑bed unit focused on patients with respiratory distress, pneumonia, sepsis, multi‑system organ failure, renal/hepatic failure, overdose, and respiratory and cardiac arrest. The team utilizes ventilator support, ECMO, and Extended Time Renal Replacement (XTRRT). The unit operates at a 1:2 nurse‑to‑patient ratio and has an AACN Beacon Gold Designation.
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds while handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English fluently and have intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Requires finger dexterity, critical thinking, and the ability to concentrate.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure in the appropriate state. Minimum two years of nursing experience preferred; previous management experience preferred. BSN required. RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without a BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within one year of the hire or transfer date and must complete the program within three years of enrollment. BLS is required. Appropriate professional certification (clinical or leadership) is required within one year of eligibility for the professional certification exam.
