Job summary

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118‑bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. Located on about 10 acres in southeast Alabama, the campus includes a year‑round K‑12 school and a staff of about 195. Laurel Oaks is seeking a Registered Nurse – House Supervisor to direct staff and provide nursing care to pediatric psychiatric patients.

The position is the Day Shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• RN license in Alabama in good standing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; diploma or associate’s degree acceptable.
• Current Alabama RN license in good standing.
• Two years’ psychiatric nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct staff and provide nursing care to pediatric psychiatric patients using the nursing process.
• Day shift 7a–7p with rotating weekends.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing

Registered Nurse licensed in Alabama

Two years psychiatric nursing preferred

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses the New Day Academy; a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is looking for a Registered Nurse - House Supervisor. The house supervisor directs staff and provides nursing care to pediatric psychiatric patients utilizing the nursing process. Day Shift 7a-7p, rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.


• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing (preferred.) A diploma graduate and/or an Associate’s degree in Nursing required


• Current status in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.


• Two (2) years psychiatric nursing preferred.
