**Recruitment Repost - Previous Applicants need not reapply** Spring Grove Hospital Center is a state psychiatric facility that provides a broad spectrum of inpatient psychiatric services. The center is located on a scenic 200-acre campus in Catonsville, Maryland, just outside Baltimore.

GRADE: STD 21

LOCATION OF POSITION: MDH, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228

POSITION DUTIES

This position, under the guidance of the Chief Resources Officer, will develop and implement the hospital's Culture of Safety program with the goal of providing safe patient care and promoting a Just Culture environment. Improving patient safety requires the coordinated efforts of senior leadership, clinical leaders, and frontline staff. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with these groups to measurably improve patient safety and reduce patient harm/errors. This requires the systematic implementation of effective, reliable care practices and developing an appropriate institutional patient safety culture.

Vaccine Requirement: Per the emergency regulation issued by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) (86 FR 61555), all staff of the MDH Healthcare System facilities are required to show proof of the first dose or single dose of COVID-19 vaccination 14 days after the start date of employment. Candidates with an approved medical or religious reason for vaccination exemption must provide proof of exemption prior to appointment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses.

Experience: Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse, including one year in a supervisory, administrative, or teaching capacity and two years in a psychiatric setting. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university for one year of the required psychiatric experience. Candidates may also substitute a Master’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field for the required psychiatric experience. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidates should possess the following:

  1. Experience developing and implementing a Culture of Safety Program
  2. Experience collecting, analyzing, and generating reports of the culture of safety survey
  3. Experience presenting informative and actionable patient safety reports to leadership and stakeholders
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
  1. Candidates must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing or a current multi-state license in states declared as primary states of residence.
  2. Employees may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
  3. Employees may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
