THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor to oversee the planning, implementation, and assessment of resident care at South Mountain Restoration Center. Nestled in the scenic mountains near Michaux State Forest, South Mountain Restoration Center is a skilled nursing home facility that provides long-term care and is operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.



DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will collaborate closely with the director of nursing, nurse manager, and shift supervisors to ensure seamless continuity of care and supervision. As a key resource and mentor, you will support nursing staff, nursing administration, the interdisciplinary team, and resident support services, fostering a spirit of teamwork. Your daily presence will allow you to oversee all aspects of nursing services, serving as a strong advocate for residents to ensure they receive high-quality care. You will take on primary responsibility for direct clinical supervision and leadership, including planning, directing, managing, and evaluating the delivery of care across various resident care areas.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, rotating on and off duty days including weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime: As needed
  • May change based on operational needs.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
