Job summary

Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Ridgeway, NY seeks an experienced nursing leader to oversee daily nursing care delivery and staff performance. The DON will coordinate services, conduct shift meetings, and ensure adherence to policies while maintaining resident safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license required.
• Peripheral IV certification required.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience expected.
• One-year management experience preferred.
• One-year geriatrics experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing care delivery and staff performance.
• Plan and conduct shift staff meetings to improve services.
• Identify and correct problems in nursing care delivery promptly.
• Provide reports and recommendations to the Director of Nursing.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
• Lead investigations of accidents and document findings.
• Interpret policies to staff, residents, visitors, and government agencies.
• Ensure confidentiality of resident information.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)

Current RN license

Peripheral IV certification

Two years of clinical nursing experience

One-year management experience preferred

One-year geriatrics experience
