Requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing and current and valid licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Commonwealth of Virginia or as a part of the Compact Designation (Multistate Privileges) and seven (7) or more years of nursing experience (specialty area to be specified by the hiring department) OR an associate’s degree in nursing and nine (9) years of nursing experience (specialty area to be specified by the hiring department). Current CPR certification. A current and valid driver’s license.
All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Some positions may require psychiatric nursing experience (program specific). This position may require incumbents to wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, safety footwear, hard hats, safety eyewear, gloves, or other safety attire and equipment in designated areas of risk. Specific requirements will be determined and communicated by the employee’s supervisor based on position assignments.
