Job summary

Novant Health’s Neurosciences unit at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Registered Nurse for 7pm-7am PRN Nights on a 43-bed acute inpatient stroke/neurology unit. You’ll care for complex stroke and neuro patients, perform advanced assessments, manage high-acuity cases, and collaborate with neuro and neurosurgical teams.

This role offers a dynamic, career-building environment with strong RN leadership and a supportive management structure, within a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN degree preferred.
• One year of acute nursing experience required.
• Current RN licensure and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Care for acute stroke & neuro patients.
• Perform advanced neuro assessments.
• Manage crains, drains, and high-acuity cases.
• Deliver full-scope RN care in a fast-paced unit.
• Collaborate with neuro & neurosurgical teams.

What You'll Do

• Education:

  - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

  - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.

  - If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

• Experience:One year of acute nursing experience required.

• Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  - Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.

  -Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
