Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital is seeking a dedicated RN for the Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit. The role requires leadership in coordinating patient care using the nursing process, with emphasis on teaching patients and families, and effective communication with the health care team.
ACLS must be obtained within six months of hire. The unit provides care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, telemetry monitoring, and collaboration with pulmonary specialists.

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
(3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7pm - 730am, every other weekend and rotating holidays. Full-Time Benefit Eligible

The Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit is a 14-bed Progressive Respiratory Unit specializing in the care of patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and pulmonary edema. The unit also cares for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation such as BiPAP/CPAP, or high-flow oxygen therapy.
The unit supports patients transitioning from the ICU, as well as those with escalating care needs from Medical-Surgical units. Patients are continuously monitored via telemetry, and all new hires are required to successfully complete mandatory telemetry training.
The team works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary group that includes a dedicated Unit Nurse Practitioner and support from the pulmonary team, including a rotating Pulmonary Fellow.
ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
