RN's involved in goal setting and achieving positive outcomes, increasing length of stay, and fostering patient-RN relationships.

About the DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan

One of the nation’s largest hospitals specializing in rehabilitation medicine and research. Known for expertise in spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputee, orthopedics, and catastrophic injury care. It houses the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and the Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), one of 16 federally designated model systems for brain injury care and research. The Institute also operates 31 outpatient sites throughout southeast Michigan, focusing on sports medicine and orthopedics.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members including ancillary and support services.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
  • Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
  • Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision-making activities.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a school of nursing required.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Licensed to practice as an RN in Michigan required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
