Job summary

University of Miami seeks a Per Diem Registered Nurse for the Interventional Radiology department. The RN will assess patients, plan and implement care, and document outcomes across imaging/IR services.

Requirements include Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS, 3 years of nursing experience (PACU/ICU/ED preferred), and BSN preferred with 2 years to complete if ASN. Per diem, part-time, temp position with salary commensurate with market.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• RN license in Florida; BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred (must be obtained within 3 months).
• Three years of nursing experience required; PACU/ICU/ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition via nursing process during Imaging/IR services; document and evaluate outcomes.
• Serve as liaison and educational resource for Imaging/IR Services and the Radiology team.
• Deliver nursing care across interventional procedures, sedations, pre/post-care, chemotherapy administration related to IR procedures, and peri-procedural monitoring.

Job description

The Interventional Radiology Department at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse. The RN:

• Assess the condition of the patient receiving Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) services via nursing process through identification of nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, communicating the plan of care, implementing appropriate nursing interventions and documenting and evaluating patient outcomes.
• Serve as a liaison and educational resource for Imaging/IR Services.
• Serve as a resource person to other members of the Radiology health care team.
• The role of the registered nurse within Imaging/IR services is multifaceted including, but not limited to delivery of nursing care throughout all aspects of the services within the department: interventional procedures, administration of moderate sedation when applicable and as ordered by provider, pre-procedure care, recovery/PACU monitoring, nursing care during imaging (MSK, CT, etc.) and nursing care of patients in the IR Clinic.
• Administration of chemo as related to IR procedures, participation in On Call rotations and Charge role as determined by role and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred. RNs hired with an Associates (ASN) degree have 2 years to complete the BSN degree.

Certification and Licensing

• Valid Florida Registered Nurse License, BLS, ACLS certification required. PALS preferred but must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Experience

• Three years of experience is required. One year of relevant nursing experience required, preferably with PACU, ICU or Emergency Department clinical experience.
