Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department night shift to provide professional nursing care for patients of all ages, triage and prioritize care, stabilize conditions, initiate treatment, and coordinate discharge or longer hospital stays.

Requirements include an active MO RN license, BLS within 90 days, ACLS and PALS within one year, ENPC within 12 months, and TNCC within 12 months; strong communication, leadership, time management, and critical

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
• MO RN license active in Missouri (required).
• BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 1 year; TNCC within 12 months; ENPC within 12 months; PALS within 12 months.

Job Description

The Emergency Department nurse provides professional nursing care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages. The ED nurse triages and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs as well as factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system. The ED nurse works quickly to assess the needs of each patient, prioritize care based on the critical nature, works to stabilize the patient, initiate treatment, discharge the patient after the emergency is over or make arrangements for a longer hospital stay.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: TNCC must be obtained within 12 months of hire

ENPC is required to be Primary RN for emergent pediatric care. RN will not be Primary RN if certification lapses.

TNCC is required to be Primary RN in trauma care. RN will not be Primary RN if certification lapses.
