Job summary

Avera is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the team at Avera McKennan Hospital. The RN will deliver direct patient care, develop care plans, and educate patients and families on conditions and treatments.

Shifts rotate days/evenings/nights and weekends with 72 hours every two weeks; sign-on up to $15,000. PTO from day 1; retirement matching; career development. Must hold an active RN license and have 1–3 years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the hours specified and perform all essential job functions.
• Active RN license in the state of practice upon hire.
• 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining histories, examining patients, and documenting status.
• Teaches healthcare requirements to patients and families about condition, medications, and self-care.
• Evaluates patient care and modifies nursing plans as needed.
• Maintains a safe care environment following policies and regulations.
• Documents patient care in charts and department records.
• Keeps equipment operating and stocks supplies; performs routine maintenance.
• Maintains competence in nursing capabilities as directed by leadership.
