Job summary

NaphCare is hiring strong PRN Registered Nurses to join our team at the Mendocino County Jail in Ukiah, CA. Pay ranges from $63.32 to $69.66 per hour, depending on status, shift, facility, licensure and experience.

As a PRN RN, you will take patient history, document vital signs, respond to emergencies, assist with triage and prepare patients for care. The role requires CA RN license and CPR, with at least one year of clinical experience; correctional healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted CA RN license.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience; correctional exp preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take and document patient history and vital signs.
• Perform and document assessments and mental health screenings.
• Respond to medical and mental health emergencies.
• Assist with triage, minor procedures, patient exams and treatments.
• Initiate and document care per prescribed protocols.
• Monitor facility nursing staff performance.

Responsibilities for Registered Nurses (RNs)

• Take and document all patient history and vital signs.
• Perform and document all patient history and vital signs, mental health screenings and/or evaluations.
• Respond to and initiate care for medical and mental health emergencies.
• Assist with daily triage/sick call, minor medical/surgical procedures, patient assessments, examinations and/or treatment.
• Initiate and document prescribed protocol agreement.
• Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies within the facility.
• Observe and evaluate the performance of the licensed practical/vocational nursing staff.

Qualifications for Registered Nurses (RNs)

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in CA
• Valid CPR card
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with correctional healthcare experience preferred
• Position may require he/she to stand or walk for long periods of time while performing duties
