Job Responsibilities
- Use the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of care. Include patients and families in planning and maintain therapeutic relationships.
- Recognize significant changes in patient condition, provide ongoing assessment, and collaborate with the healthcare team to adjust care plans as needed.
- Implement strategies to enhance patient safety and reduce risks. Assess learning needs of patients and families, and develop appropriate educational strategies.
- Coordinate discharge planning with an interdisciplinary team, applying evidence-based practices and ensuring compliance with nursing standards.
- Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes; support quality improvement initiatives and shared governance activities.
- Communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, promote team collaboration, and delegate appropriately, assuming leadership roles as necessary.
- Identify safety threats, report incidents, and participate in corrective actions to promote a culture of safety.
- Apply ethical decision-making, demonstrate respect for peers and disciplines, and participate as an effective team member.
- Engage in professional development activities, attend meetings and educational programs, and complete required competencies timely.
- Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles, and interpret patient data to meet specific needs.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license from the practicing state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Completion of an accredited nursing program.
- Typically, at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

- Progression in holistic patient care and situational awareness.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and computer skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and human relation skills.
- Ability to make critical decisions independently and demonstrate excellent organization and time management.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks as specified, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases with appropriate protective gear.
- Functional sensory abilities for communication and procedural tasks.
