Job summary

Emerson Hospital nurses in the Wound Care Center provide care under the supervision of physicians, delivering treatment and management for patients with complex wounds, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy as indicated.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with MA RN licensure; BSN preferred. Prior wound care experience and strong organizational and critical thinking skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Previous wound care experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of physicians, perform treatment, management, and care of wound patients.
• Evaluate diagnostic findings and coordinate wound care or HBOT as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the medical team to monitor progress and outcomes.

Job description

Under the general direction of the Director of the Wound Care Center and in direct collaboration with and medical supervision of physicians, performs treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with problematic wounds who are receiving comprehensive wound care and or hyperbaric oxygen treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in wound care strongly preferred.

§ Licensure and/or Certification

• Current licensure as a professional nurse in Massachusetts required.
• Certification as WOCN, CWCN or CWS strongly preferred.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Organizational skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
