Advocate Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte seeks a part-time RN in Neurosurgery ICU (NSICU) for a 24-hour-per-week schedule from 0700 to 1930, with a weekend program on SAT/SUN and rotating holidays. The unit features 29 beds and private rooms, with a strong AACN designation.

The ideal candidate has completed an accredited nursing program, at least 6 months of RN experience, an active RN license in North Carolina, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience, this position is not for new grads
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Neurosurgery ICU
Where You Will Work:

The Neurosurgical ICU provides comprehensive patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. NSICU is a 29-bed unit with all private rooms,three negative pressure rooms and two fully equipped nursing stations with central monitoring available on either side.Common diagnoses for these patients include but are not limited to subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, epidural hematoma, spinal cord injuries, Code Stroke, head trauma, intracranial hemorrhages, brain tumors, continuous EEG and carotid endarterectomies.The nurses specialize in utilizing the NIHSS, monitoring and manipulating external ventricular devices, subdural drains, and IRRAS. We have a 1:2 ratio and have an AACN Beacon of Excellence Silver Designation.
