Job summary

UT Health East Texas is seeking a day shift, PRN Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab in Tyler, TX. The RN will provide direct patient care for adults and geriatric patients and assist Cardiologists during procedures performed in the Cath Lab.

Requirements include an active Texas RN license, an accredited nursing degree, and BLS & ACLS certifications. On-call duties require arriving within 30 minutes of notification.

Qualifications

• Completion of Associates Degree, Diploma, or Bachelor/Master of Science in Nursing.
• Must maintain current Texas RN License.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS

Responsibilities

• The RN provides and directs patient care for adults and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Assists Cardiologist with cardiac catheterization procedures and related studies/interventions.
• Works with imaging modalities and ionizing radiation during procedures.
• On-call availability with 30-minute response to the Cath Lab.
• Delivers direct patient care during procedures.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who uses the nursing process to provide and direct patient care for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
• The Cardiac Catheterization Registered Nurse assists the Cardiologist with procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
• This includes both Cardiovascular studies/interventions as well as Special Procedure studies/ interventions.
• The patient population contains adults, and geriatric patients. Ionizing Radiation is utilized to perform these studies as well as other imaging modalities.
• On-Call is required and the employee must be able to respond and arrive in the Cath Lab within 30 minutes.
• The Registered nurse is responsible for direct patient care during the procedure.
