Inova Health System invites applications for an RN Fellow transitioning to the NICU at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA. The program begins January 4, 2027, with a 3x12 schedule and rotating day/night shifts or full-time night shifts.

The Fellow will learn under supervision to develop NICU competencies and meet program objectives. Required: BSN in progress or completed, Virginia RN license or eligibility, BLS certification, and at least one year of inpatient RN experience.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing (ADN must complete BSN within 5 years).
• RN license or eligible to practice in Virginia as an RN.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• One year minimum of RN inpatient experience.
• Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• RN Fellow participates in learning new knowledge, developing skills, and meeting program objectives in the NICU.
• Opportunities to practice in the assigned patient care setting under supervision.
• Rotate through shifts and adapt to program requirements to gain NICU competency.

Job Description

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking an RN Fellow (experienced Nurse new to the NICU specialty) to join the NICUJanuary 4, 2027 Fellowship start date.

Schedule is Full time (3x12) Rotating Day and Night Shifts (6 weeks Day shift, 6 weeks Night shift) or Full Time Night Shift; Must be able to orient both day and night shift.

The RN Fellowship program will develop the necessary clinical skills to practice nursing in a competent manner within a specified service line. The RN Fellow, in an atmosphere of acceptance and support, will learn under the direct supervision of an experienced RN and through various other training formats. The RN Fellow participates in learning new knowledge, developing new skills, and meeting program objectives to be able to practice in assigned patient care delivery setting utilizing and applying new knowledge.

• Education:BSN from an accredited school of nursing. Applicants with an Associate’s Degree (ADN) must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

• Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.

RN Fellow preferred qualifications:
