Summary

This role provides direct clinical patient care. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients on a per-shift basis and at the unit level. The RN supervises staff to whom care is delegated and ensures high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care. The RN is responsible for coordinating patient care based on the nursing process, administering medications safely and timely, and adhering to hospital policies and emergency protocols.

The RN also fulfills all Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies, knowing and acting according to hospital emergency codes.
