Job summary

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift on a per diem basis to deliver safe, compassionate care using the nursing process. The role includes coordinating care, documenting accurately, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

The RN will administer medications, monitor patient responses, and participate in care planning and education for patients and families throughout hospitalization and discharge.

Qualifications

• State license required upon hire.
• BLS required upon hire.
• ACLS within 90 days post hire/transfer.
• NIHSS within 90 days post hire/transfer.
• BLS/ACLS must be through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and identify problems; implement appropriate interventions.
• Assess skin integrity and risk for falls each shift; monitor patient status.
• Administer, transcribe and document medications per hospital policy.
• Observe and record data using the nursing process; report changes to physicians.
• Develop care plans and coordinate with interdisciplinary team; set priorities based on acuity.
• Educate patients and families; provide discharge instructions and education resources.

Job Summary

Job Type: Per Diem

The Registered Nurse coordinates and provides safe care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The nurse directs and coordinates the care of assigned personnel. Performs charge duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assessment
  • Identifies problems & implements appropriate interventions.

  • Assess patient’s response to medications & treatments.
  • Assessment completed per unit protocol.
• Medication Administration
  • Medicates for pain per protocol.
  • Administers, transcribes & documents medications as per hospital policy.
  • Adheres to hospital P&P related to blood & blood products administration.
• Documentation
  • Observes, collects and accurately records data utilizing nursing process.
  • Documents changes in patient status, reports to physicians & documents actions taken.
  • Completes admission & discharge form accurately.
• Care Planning/Coordination
  • Develops written plan of care, incorporates teaching component & collaborates with interdisciplinary team.
  • Sets priorities for care of patients based on acuity and/or patient preference.
  • Coordinates tests, treatments, etc. with ancillary departments.
  • Initiates appropriate Evidenced Based Medicine tool.
• Patient / Family / Staff Education
  • Identifies the learning needs of patient and/or significant other and/or family & initiates resources to meet these needs on admission.
  • Explains procedures & interventions & documents on the education tool.
  • Provides adequate information & instructions to the patient/family/significant other through-out hospitalization & discharge according to patient/families ability & willingness to learn
